The Nigerian Youth Fashion & Empowerment Week is an annual rebranded project known as “SHOWDOWN”. SHOWDOWN was established in the year 2013 in Ogun State and the event was also tagged the first ever fashion event in Funaab. We decided to rebrand this cultural and educational event to NYFEW aimed to advance and contribute meaningfully to the socio-cultural style and growth of talented and intellectual abilities of youths across all the regions in Nigeria by training them in the following fields; Fashion Designing, Modelling, Hair Styling,Photography and Makeup Artistry. Also a unique platform will be provided at the end of the empowerment exercise to showcase their talents. The aim of this educational event is to reach out to the community and provide a positive space helping them believe in themselves and in anything that everything is achievable through self-development which is the best given self-gift.

The Nigerian Youth Fashion & Empowerment Week organization is equally designed to add value to African culture through the display of fashions and to encourage the upcoming youths by bringing the best of the young hopefuls such as their goals, their self-confidence, talents, commitment to public service, and their drive for success. This project is aspired to be the biggest empowerment event for the youths in the whole of Africa. The Nigerian Fashion and Design industry has no doubt grown in recent times. Mention must also be made of great fashion entrepreneurs who has contributed meaningfully to the growth and development of fashion industry in Nigeria from Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, Frank Oshodi, Uti Nwachukwu, to the more recent House of April by Kunbi, Zaron Cosmetics and Beth Models. This fashion entrepreneur legends in Nigeria has led to the inspiration of up and coming youths fashion entrepreneurs, who have taken their own creativity to the next level. In the view of the above, that the international body of SUAVE EMPIRE decided to come together to form the first ever major youth fashion and empowerment week event for Nigerian youths.
